Sat 23rd Feb 2019 (9.30 – 17.30)
This course is for anyone with a basic level of machine sewing experience who wants to make clothes that actually fit. Perhaps you’ve tried using commercial patterns but the bust never sits right, the neck gapes or you have saggy bits under the arms!
Take the mystery out of the fit issues and join our fantastic dressmaking tutor Maddison as she guides you through designing your own patterns using your personal measurements.
Ideally you will have taken our Pattern Drafting part 1 course and created a pattern/bodice block to fit you. (If you have not taken our course but perhaps drafted a block at an alternative venue that fits then you are welcome to bring it along)
You will leave the course full of skills, knowledge and sporting a beautiful new custom made top! Here’s what’s covered:
You will learn how to alter the necklines, move the darts and add sleeves to create a beautiful top all at your own pace.
You can then combine your top with a skirt to make a wonderful dress on our Part 3 course!
Once you have this block and the knowledge gained you can combine it with commercial patterns to ensure a perfect fit EVERY TIME!!
Pupils are required to bring 1.5 metres of 100% cotton. (at least 100cm wide or wider) + 1 metre of calico to make toiles of your sleeves/necklines
Payment plan available, please contact us if you would like to spread the cost.
