Sun 28th Oct (9.30 – 17.30)
This course is for anyone with a basic level of machine sewing experience who wants to make clothes that actually fit. Perhaps you’ve tried using commercial patterns but the bust never sits right, the neck gapes or you have saggy bits under the arms!
Take the mystery out of the fit issues and join our fantastic dressmaking tutor Maddison as she guides you through designing your own patterns using your personal measurements.
To take part in this course you will have ideally completed parts 1 & 2 of our pattern drafting course and be able to bring to class a bodice of your own design, sewn up in the fabric chosen for your dress.
This is an intensive 1 day course and you will leave the course full of skills, knowledge and sporting a beautiful new dress that fits you perfectly! Here’s what’s covered:
Using your completed bodice (made in advance of the class at home) you will work with Maddisson to draft a skirt pattern of your choice either pleated, gathered or full circle. You will then attach your bodice to your skirt and insert a zipper to complete your new frock.
If you are unsure of pattern requirements, measurements or fabric requirements Maddison is available to liaise with you in person at the studio or via email ahead of class so that you are purchasing the right materials and creating the perfect bodice at home and are ready to hit the ground running.
Payment plan available, please contact us if you would like to spread the cost.
