An intensive 1 day workshop that will take you through all the steps to make a small sampler quilt.

You will make 4 basic blocks, add sashing strips and a border, make a ‘quilt sandwich’ and baste it before quilting, adding a binding and hand finishing.

Approximate finished size will be 22 1/2” x 22 1/2”. All tools and basic materials are provided however you will need to bring 4 fat quarters in (4 different prints) of 100% quilting weight cotton so you can choose your design before the class and 1/2 metre of contrast cotton to use for your binding and borders.  Advice is available as to where you can purchase this from should you need it.  Please bring your fat quarters ironed in advance of class.  We suggest you roll them around a cardboard tube to keep them crease free.

Pupils are asked to bring a packed lunch however tea and coffee will be served throughout the day.  Places are limited to 5 students and it is expected this class will book up very quickly.  Your tutor for the day is local professional quilting tutor Maria Spiller. Maria works for various colleges and local establishments and is very very booked up.  Our dates with her are limited so places on these courses do book fast.

PLEASE NOTE – This course will no longer be running after March 2019 as Maria is retiring.
