Got a wish list of sewing patterns you would love to try but feel you need your hand held along the way?
Join Claire for one of our many ‘Make what you like’ days
Bring along the pattern of your choice designed for knit or jersey fabrics and the fabric to make it and she will hold your hand through the construction process.
This session is ideal for anyone who has completed any of our beginners dressmaking sessions or who have dabbled with a bit of simple garment making at home before. You will need to inform us of the pattern you wish to make so we can get to grips with it’s construction in advance and if you are not sure what pattern to choose but know what you would like to make then we would be happy to advise you on one of our tried and tested options.
What you achieve during the session will depend on a number of factors. If you are still a beginner you may need help right from the measuring and cutting stage so it could take 1-2 days to finish your garment. If however you are more experienced and are happy to cut out at home then you can whizz something up in next to no time and possibly even 2 garments in a day. If you would like to ask us what we recommend in advance of booking then please feel free to contact Claire.
It really will depend on your project and how much time you want to sew for. As such we have opened up numerous days during the year and you are welcome to book more than one. Each session is £65 but if you book more than one at the same time and use the following codes at checkout you will get money off!
Simply put the required dates into your cart and then add the relevant code in the coupon box before checking out.
Use of sewing machines, irons, cutting equipment and table space is included in your course. If you have an overlocker and know how to use it then you are welcome to bring it with you to use it but please be aware that no formal tuition will be available on the operation of your own machine so you must be confident in it’s use.
