Knitted cable cowl or teabag hat

This project may look complicated but we promise you it is super, super simple!

A great way to learn basic cable stitches to get the lovely plaited effect on either edge of this garter stitch cowl or hat.

During the class you will learn to follow the pattern and knit a good few inches of the cowl or hat.  Once you have knitted the required number of rows (at home) you can simple stitch the two ends together to form a loop or flat hat.

Although you will not finish your cowl/hat in one sitting you are welcome to come into the studio whenever you like at no extra cost to work on your cowl or if you need help we can arrange for the knit nurse to visit! (All pupils are welcome to stay on for the afternoon and keep knitting as Carol will be teaching a separate class but on hand to help if you get stuck)

Pupils will require straight 6mm needles and 2 balls of Stylecraft Special Chunky in the colour of your choice.  (A plain bright to light colour is recommended for your first cowl so that you can clearly see your stitches.  Avoid a variegated yarn or black/navy which will be hard to see)

You will receive patterns for both the hat and cowl in class.  Both are started in exactly the same way.
