Introduction to Brioche knitting

Brioche knitting is another form of fishermans rib and can be worked in 2 colours so that the pattern appears reversible.  It is used mainly to knit warm cowls and scarves but can also be worked into intricate patterns to form a part of shawls.

This course is a beginners, introduction to Brioche stitches.  You will work in a single colour to learn all of the basic stitches including increasing and decreasing before attempting a swatch of 2 colour.  If you need more time to perfect the 1 colour basics then you can attend a knit clinic at a later date to perfect the 2 colour style.

Pupils will need a pair of 4mm needles and 2 100g balls (or smaller scraps) of DK yarn in the colours of their choice.
