Simple Sweatshirts using an overlocker

This class is for anyone who has undertaken our ‘Learn to love your overlocker‘ course or is confident in using and threading their own machine.  It will be undertaken with your own machines.

These sweatshirts are not only super comfy but they are also really simple to make.  Don’t let jersey and stretch fabrics scare you they really are lovely fabrics to work with.

Learn to take your own measurements, cut and assemble your top (this part of the class will be taken by Claire) Then construct your top completely using only your overlocker (this part of the class will be taken by Pauline our overlocking tutor)

You can either use 3 metres of the same fabric or if you want contrast cuffs and neck/waist bands you will need 2.5 of your main fabric and 0.5 of your band fabric.

Recommended fabrics are sweatshirting with plain jersey twinlock for the cuffs/bands or any fairly heavy weight jersey fabric.  All the tops featured on the listing are made with fairly lightweight jersey (not t-shirt weight though) and are therefore comfy without being too hot.  If you are not sure about purchasing online you can always request samples from your chosen fabric supplier or send us the link to what you have found.  We would be happy to look over them for you before you purchase.

Your pattern is included in the cost of the workshop and goes up to a bust size of 42″

The Midweek class is split into 2 sessions.  Week 1 will be cutting and week 2 will be assembling.
