Sat 9th June (12.30 – 17.30)
This class is a perfect introduction to making simple soft toys which are both sweet to look at and fun to play with for both adults and children alike.
Our Llamas GlamourLlama and Lari literally came to life while we were making them and there was a lot of laughter in the studio during their creation. What made it even more fun was the photoshoot we did with them on the farm we are located on. We enjoyed a fabulous half an hour in the fields whilst the sun shone and the two creatures got to know each other a little better!
All of the main materials are provided for you on this course, but we ask that you bring along a bag of polyester toy filling and a fat quarter of patchwork cotton if you want to make your llama a rug or give them colourful ears like Lari. You can also bring any trim you think might look good as a collar or lead or to add to their rugs.
Whilst this class is not a hard class by any means, we do advise you have had a little go on a sewing machine recently. There are a few tricky sewing machine areas and a little bit of hand sewing (Nothing too taxing though, we managed it)!
Please note – You will be working from templates during the class but will be given details of the pattern should you wish to purchase it for future use. (We have had permission to teach the class from the pattern writer but she has asked that you purchase your own copy should you wish to make more. It is available for $8 as a digital download from a US supplier. We have a 35% discount for you though which we will happily pass on to all pupils).
