Amigurumi (編みぐるみ?, lit. crocheted or knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, usually cute stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll
Master the art of Amigurumi in this short masterclass. Use the techniques to create a small floppy sun hat which is designed to be used as a pin cushion. During the session you will learn how to create the infamous ‘Magic Ring’ to start your work and increase and decrease stitches to create the finished item.
Basic crochet knowledge is required for this class, you must be able to hold the hook and yarn correctly and create a double crochet stitch.
All materials are provided including a 4mm hook for use in class, although if you have a favourite please feel free to bring it along. You will receive a pattern and instructions to take home.
Please bring along approx 10 x 2p pieces to use as weights or some flat metal washers.
